Registering to Vote in Person
Visit the Town Office during regular business hours to:
- Register to vote
- Update your enrollment status, name, or address
Please bring along a photo ID and proof of residency.
Acceptable forms of proof of residency include:
- Maine Drivers License or State ID
- Utility Bills
- Bank Statement
- Government Check or other public benefit receipts
- Paycheck
- Current income tax return
- Current vehicle registration
- Other official documentation
New for 2024: Online Voter Registration
Starting in 2024, you’ll have the convenience of online voter registration.
Absentee Voting Options
You have several ways to vote absentee:
- Vote in person at the town office in the presence of the clerk.
- Fill out an application to take a ballot with you.
- Request a ballot by mail for yourself by calling the town office.
- Use the Maine Online Absentee Ballot Request Service to request a ballot by mail.
The deadline to request an absentee ballot is 7 days before an election. Beyond that, you may qualify for a special circumstance request due to unexpected absence, disability, illness, or caregiving responsibilities.
Returning Absentee Ballots
Absentee ballots must be returned and received no later than the close of polls on Election Day.
