- Old Business
- 5 Saint Agatha Avenue Property
Dave explained the process involved in dealing with dangerous buildings and steps we have taken to address different issues with the house at 5 Saint Agatha Avenue. Mr. Paradis asked whether the Town could enact a zoning ordinance to address dilapidated buildings such as this. Dave explained that we do not have an overall zoning ordinance, only a Shoreland Zoning Ordinance and to develop an ordinance would require legal assistance, resulting in costs. He then asked about different scenarios whereby the Town could acquire this house and demolish it. Dave’s response was that due to the high probability of asbestos containing material in the house, we would have to determine the extent of the ACM and hire an asbestos abatement contractor, followed by actual demolition, the costs to do so outweigh any potential benefit of addressing the dilapidated building. No further action was taken.
- Providing new address for 40 Cleveland Road
Dave explained that he had met with Eric and Peter to determine a course of action to rectify the addressing problem with the property currently identified as 40 Cleveland Avenue. The suggestion was to change the address to 46 Cleveland Avenue which is where the driveway and access is located. Motion by Vern, seconded by Nancy, to change the address from 40 to 46 Cleveland Avenue. Motion carried 3-0.

- Acceptance of donation to purchase an AED for the Fire Department UTV
Dave explained that last spring during the Fire Department’s fundraising drive for their UTV, Mr. Cyr had asked whether an AED would be placed on the machine, and when informed that it wasn’t planned largely because of costs, Mr. Cyr offered to make a $1,500 donation towards the purchase. Peter researched the cost at $1,700 and the Department will produce the difference. Motion by Vern, seconded by Nancy to accept the donation to be used towards the purchase of an AED for the UTV. Motion carried 3-0.

Motion by Yvon, seconded by Nancy to move forward with the sale of the tax-acquired properties in accordance with statutes. Motion carried 3-0.
- Greater Fort Kent Chamber Annual Dinner Meeting

- March Town Meeting Election Vacancy
Dave explained that while Micah had taken out nomination papers for reelection to the Board, he had not returned them before the deadline.
